Still Austin Tanager Cigar Blend (Batch 1) is the inaugural release (2024) of one of the most innovative new “cigar blend” bourbons on the market. Unlike traditional cigar blends that rely on finishing in sherry, rum, or port barrels, this whiskey is built entirely from Texas-grown grains and blending technique, making it stand out immediately. Crafted under master blender Nancy Fraley, it uses an old-world “Petites Eaux” method—where a lower-proof whiskey is aged and then blended back—to create extra depth and sweetness without finishing casks. The result is a bold yet refined bourbon with notes of tobacco, dark fruit, caramel, chocolate, baking spice, and oak—designed specifically to stand up to a cigar while still being balanced and sippable.
