Collectors call it the 'Cheesy Gold Foil' (CGF) because of its shiny gold-foil label, which first appeared on US bottles in 1985. This bottle comes from that first year. Austin Nichols owned Wild Turkey at the time, and the bourbon was made at the Lawrenceburg, Kentucky distillery when Jimmy Russell was master distiller. Whiskey historians believe many of these bottles hold bourbon well older than the 12 years on the label, which partly explains why collectors value them so highly.
