It is bottled uncut and unfiltered straight from the barrel. Thomas H. Handy (1839–1893) was a New Orleans businessman who took over the Sazerac House in 1869. He championed American rye whiskey in the Sazerac cocktail when cognac supplies ran short. The whiskey joined the Antique Collection in 2006, and its proof changes every year.
