Kentucky Owl Maighstir Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey – 100 Proof Maighstir Edition, released in 2023, is the third in Kentucky Owl's series of international collaborations. Outgoing master blender John Rhea made it with Maureen Robinson, a longtime Scotch whisky blender, and the release also marked Robinson taking over as Kentucky Owl's master blender. She approached it the way a Scotch blender would, mixing four Kentucky straight bourbons aged 4, 5, 8 and 9 years. 'Maighstir' (said 'may-stir') is Gaelic for 'master'.
