Buffalo Trace O.F.C. Vintage 1996 Kentucky Straight Bourbon – 25 Year
750mL
Buffalo Trace O.F.C. Vintage 1996 Kentucky Straight Bourbon O.F.C. ('Old Fashioned Copper') is Buffalo Trace's most exclusive bourbon program. It's named after the original O.F.C. distillery founded by Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. in 1870. Each vintage is bourbon distilled in a single year and left to age for decades. The 1996 vintage was bottled at 90 proof after about 25 years in the barrel. Every bottle is an individually numbered, hand-cut crystal decanter with copper lettering. It comes in a wooden display box with a provenance card. Tasting Notes • Nose: Cherry cordial and caramel over lightly smoked oak. • Palate: Dark chocolate, tobacco leaf and dried dates. • Finish: Lingering leather, black pepper and cinnamon. Product Details • Distillery: Buffalo Trace Distillery (Frankfort, Kentucky) • Style: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey • Age: 25 years (distilled 1996) • Proof / ABV: 90 proof (45% ABV) • Size: 750ml • Availability: Very limited, numbered crystal decanters (roughly 945 bottles reported) Why It Stands Out The first O.F.C. vintages went only to charities, which auctioned them off. Buffalo Trace didn't start selling the program in stores until 2018, and each vintage has been released in very small numbers since. Bourbon that has aged a quarter century, in a numbered crystal decanter, is among the most collectible bottles Buffalo Trace makes. Serving Suggestions Pour a small amount neat and give it time in the glass. After 25 years in oak, this bourbon is best sipped slowly.
