Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon – Complete 8-Stopper Set This is a complete collector's set of eight bottles of Blanton's Original Single Barrel Bourbon. Each bottle has a different horse-and-jockey stopper, and together the eight stoppers spell B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S. The figures show the stages of a horse race, from the start through trot, canter and gallop. On the final 'S' stopper, the jockey raises a fist in victory. Buffalo Trace hands out the stoppers at random, so collecting all eight one bottle at a time is very hard. Tasting Notes • Nose: Creamy vanilla with caramel and butterscotch, plus baking spices like clove, nutmeg and cinnamon • Palate: Sweet, with citrus and oak • Finish: Medium length, with orange-tinged caramel and a touch of rye spice Product Details • Distillery: Buffalo Trace Distillery (Kentucky) • Style: Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Single Barrel • Proof / ABV: 93 proof (46.5% ABV) • Mash Bill: Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #2 (higher rye) • Availability: Complete set of 8 bottles, one of each stopper letter, sold together Why It Stands Out In 1984, Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee introduced Blanton's as the first single barrel bourbon sold to the public. Every bottle comes from a single barrel aged in Buffalo Trace's Warehouse H. The eight-letter stopper series began in 1999, and a full matched set is one of bourbon's best-known collectibles. Serving Suggestions Display the set together, and open a bottle to taste neat or over a large ice cube. Since each bottle comes from a different barrel, opening two side by side makes a fun comparison. Stop by Bansum Wine & Liquor in Patchogue or order online for shipping.
