Anderson Club 15 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon – 1996 (Pre-Fire Heaven Hill) – 86 Proof Anderson Club was a Heaven Hill label introduced in 1954. In the 1990s and early 2000s it was sold mainly in Japan, and bottles found in the U.S. today were usually brought back from there. The label came in 6, 10 and 15 year versions, told apart by color, and the 15 Year used a black label. This bottle is marked 1996, which collectors read as the bottling year. That would put its distillation in the early 1980s, long before the 1996 fire that destroyed Heaven Hill's original Bardstown distillery. Heaven Hill discontinued Anderson Club around 2005. Tasting Notes • Nose: Gentle honey-cereal sweetness, rum raisin and molasses, with old oak, dried cherry, light florals and stone fruit. • Palate: Caramel and dried cherry, with a sherry-like, slightly oxidized dusty-bottle character, plus tobacco, light chocolate and toasted almond on a velvety body. • Finish: Short to medium, with cinnamon, sweet oak, cherry, chocolate and clove.
