Despite the category, this isn't a Port wine, it's a 43-year-old single grain Scotch whisky from the now-closed Port Dundas distillery in Glasgow, bottled by the independent bottler Douglas Laing as part of its Xtra Old Particular range. Laid down in 1978 and drawn from a single refill hogshead at natural cask strength, it's an exceptionally old example of Lowland grain whisky. Expect the mellow, honeyed sweetness and soft oak character that define well-aged grain whisky, refined by over four decades in cask. With only a small number of hand-filled bottles produced, this is a serious collector's dram best enjoyed neat in a proper whisky glass.
Gift wrap can also be added in your cart.
